Meet Our Dentist
Dr. Justin Villafane
A proud native of Beatrice, Nebraska, Dr. Justin Villafane graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry. In 2011, he founded Floss Family Dental & Surgical Center to bring exceptional family dentistry to Lincoln.
With a deep commitment to general dentistry, Dr. Villafane believes that foundational care like cleanings, fillings, and restorations are critical to oral and systemic health. But his comprehensive approach extends beyond the basics, addressing root causes of complex concerns with expertise in dental implants, TMJ, frenectomies, and more.
Dr. Villafane’s passion for whole-body health shines through in his work with sleep apnea solutions. He draws from his personal experience with airway treatment and his diplomate status with the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine to craft custom oral appliances. His specialized training with TMJ pioneer Dr. Steven Olmos, alongside his affiliation with the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, equips him to tackle TMJ disorders and facial pain with therapies like Botox®, supporting relief from headaches and tooth wear.
As a proud Affiliate of the Breathe Institute, Dr. Villafane has trained with renowned airway specialist Dr. Soroush Zaghi, a pioneer in advancing sleep and breathing treatment standards. Inspired by his specialized training and personal journey, he excels in low-risk tongue tie releases, often collaborating with his wife, Kelly (a speech and myofunctional therapist) to support patients of all ages through a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach.
Whether it’s a child’s first checkup or a grandparent’s implant, Dr. Villafane’s goal is to empower generations of families with personalized, root-cause dental care, so every smile can thrive.
Meet the Floss Team

Jen S.
Office Manager
I began my career in dentistry after graduating from dental assisting school in 2013. Following two years of hands-on experience as a dental assistant, I transitioned into business administration and finance, where I developed a strong foundation in the operational aspects of dental practice management. With over a decade of experience, I’ve been proud to serve as the Office Manager at Floss Family Dental since September 2022.
I’m passionate about creating a welcoming and efficient environment for both patients and our team. It’s incredibly rewarding to help ensure each visit runs smoothly and comfortably.
Outside of the office, I love strength training, paddleboarding, hiking, and going on adventures with my two dogs.

Char T.
Registered Dental Hygienist
I’m a graduate of UNMC and have been practicing dental hygiene for over 30 years. I enjoy building relationships with my patients and helping them achieve and maintain excellent oral health through personalized education and care.
I’ve been a member of the Floss team since 2019 and love being part of such a dedicated and supportive group.
Outside the office, you’ll often find me hiking in the mountains, biking local trails, running 10K races, or relaxing with a great book.

Maggie D.
Certified Dental Assistant
I’m a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) and a graduate of the Dental Assisting program at Southeast Community College, class of 2015. After spending five years in Omaha, I returned to Lincoln and joined the Floss team in 2022.
I enjoy working in general dentistry because it offers a wide variety of procedures and endless opportunities to keep learning and growing in the field.
Outside of the office, I love spending time with my family, playing volleyball, and cheering on the Huskers in all sports!
Alyssa
I graduated from the Dental Assisting program at Scott Community College in Bettendorf, Iowa, in 2019. I was born and raised in Davenport, Iowa, and moved to Lincoln in July 2025. I worked as a dental assistant for six years before transitioning into my current role at the front desk.
My favorite part of the job is being the first smiling face patients see when they walk in—especially since we know visiting the dentist isn’t always at the top of anyone’s list!
Outside of the office, I enjoy checking out new coffee shops, getting lost in a good book, and spending time outdoors hiking.
